Observing Butterflies

We finally got around to ordering our butterfly caterpillars...a fun journey learning about Life Cycles.

Our tiny caterpillars arrived with their food..some barely out of the egg.
 They double in size everyday!
 All ready to go inside...

The molten skin...uck! Those little circles, yeah, that's poop! >>a ton of poop!
Time to hang them in the enclosure...
 New home...
Our first little guy...
We made nectar dropped on the flowers and fresh fruit..
Flying around and enjoying their new habitat...
A little peek at the beauty!

 The empty chrysalis..
Looking at butterfly wings, legs, and antenna under a microscope.
We also read some great Usborne books!!!
I love Usbourne Books!!! I had a party recently and you can still order till July 4th online at https://f5935.myubam.com/320070 Thanks for reading!

Painting in the Summer

My kids are so ready for summer!! That said, I'm not ready for the heat!!! We play outside in the morning, but by noon it's just too hot! So, I have been saving little fun things from the school year... one of them is painting!
Thanks to Netflix putting on Bob Ross episodes we now have our favorite summer activity!
This is all for fun...no pressure, no perfection~ only fun!

In their little imaginations they are in a famous studio!
Imagination!!!
It's also relaxing...which makes it a great way to spend the summer, well, at least during the hottest times of the day!

Homeschool Valentine's Day Party

So one of my daughters complaints about homeschooling (which are few, thankfully!) is the lack of parties....

Well, I can fix that!!! Why didn't I think of this before?!? Hmmm...

So I got together with my best friend/SIL/Partner in Crime that's also a homeschooling mama and we planned a party...

Nothing too crazy just a few mama friends and their little ones and we had a blast!!!

We had ART!

And Food!

Some of the girls even did a puppet show for the younger ones...

Well, I guess it's easy to see why I haven't heard any more complaints from my big girl... She's too busy making new friends and having fun!!!

Huge thanks to all of the mamas that brought your kids (and yummy snacks) to the party!  <3

Homeschoolers LOVE Valentines!

To start off the Month of Love our Homeschooling Group decided to start a Valentine-Chain-Mail of AWESOMENESS!

The kids either made or bought Valentines, practiced writing their address on the envelopes, learned about mail, sent them off, and in return had a month of hearts and cards mailed back to them from all over the country!!!!! It was so fun!!!

My girls loved it and learned a lot!!!! ~ Even my 4 year old can explain how the mail works...she can even tell you where you can buy stamps! ;)

I love teaching my girls about life all with their academics, but most of all about LOVE!

Another Anniversary..

That's right another anniversary!

That makes 8 years of wedded bliss...and maybe a few blahs.
We have been through so much together...still together and still in love!

I can't even begin to tell you how much I love that man!! He is strong and wise... He is loving and steady,,. He is faithful and loving... He is a provider and protector... He is so amazing!

This was our first time out-of-town away from the kids... I missed them a little, but...
We had so much fun!!!

The State Fair!!!

We love going to the Fair every year!! It is a chance for my city kids to get a little country in their lives! We also just love spending time as a family!!! As a mom and a teacher I like to make it educational so I go online and look up all of the ASL vocabulary I think I will need...we learn them together or learn the signs during the activity.  We also watch Science videos of things we might see..
So when we told the girls that we were going to the Fair, you bet they were in the car and ready to go!!

We rode a few rides...

Then we headed over to the Livestock! My big girl LOVES cows!

Then we went to look at the goats!!! This is us looking at the goats!
This is my children BEING goats! LOL! Don't worry, I washed their hand very well!

Then someone needed a time-out! Yes, I can find a good time-out spot anywhere~ even the Fair!

Then it was right back to our horseplay!

The older girls enjoyed a show! I just love that sisterly bond...

There was so much to do, see, and buttons to push!

We even had the privilege of supporting our troops...

We had such a great time!!! We can't wait to go to the State Fair next year!
