The Wild Horses of Sweetbrier and Equine Anatomy

Can I just say how excited I am so do this unit!! We love Five In A Row (FIAR) and we love horses! Well, my children love horses..I'm slowly working through my fear of them and not telling my children about the time I was bitten as a child. This week, weeks we are doing the The Wild Horses of Sweetbrier.

When Dollies Get Hearing Aids, Too..

I came across this picture from when my kids were little..

My at the time 3 year old newly identified child had just gotten her hearing aids. She has since decided to not wear them, and we support her in her decision. At that time, she wanted her baby to have hearing aids too.. So, I looked around the store and finally found some puff paint and thought that could work! So, for less than $3 we had hearing aids on a few dolls! I love her so much, and always want her to feel good about herself.. She is amazing and I'm so proud to be her mama!

Follow The Drinking Gourd FIAR

We made constellations with toilet paper rolls, and black construction paper.

The Eclipse...It's a Great Day To Start School!

Good Morning! It's back to school day!!! We are so excited...did I mention it's also the day of the Solar Eclipse?!? We are studying Astronomy as well as books with the theme of the "sun & stars" in our Five In A Row books! It's going to be a great year!!!
